Financial Analyst, Transaction Opinions / Fund Opinions / CVAS

Overview

Analyst role in Houlihan Lokey's Financial and Valuation Advisory practice, working on transaction opinions, fund opinions and corporate valuation advisory services (CVAS). The role supports complex analytics, financial models and valuation work alongside M&A and industry teams.

What you'll do

• Analyze and explain historical and projected financial information
• Perform business and financial due diligence
• Conduct industry and sub-sector research
• Value companies, businesses and securities
• Build complex financial models (e.g., to support negotiating/advocacy positions, assess cash flows of a company and/or value specific securities)
• Assist in the preparation of board/special committee presentations supporting advice and opinions
• Help pitch engagements and participate in business development initiatives
• Help build out regional capabilities by hiring an expanding team and working cross-functionally across Transaction Opinions, Fund Opinions and CVAS

What you'll need

• Prior investment banking, valuation, or related experience
• Advanced accounting, finance, financial modeling, and analytical abilities
• Strong qualitative and quantitative research skills (analyst)
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Experience managing analysts or other personnel (associate)
• Independent thinker and resourceful problem solver driven to succeed in a fast-paced environment
• Very strong work ethic, organizational skills, and ability to multi-task

Nice to have

• Chartered Accountant or MBA preferable, with CFA being an added advantage
• Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in investment banking or financial valuation
• Demonstrated ability to work cooperatively with all levels of staff
