Financial Controller

Overview

Lead the financial control of FLSmidth entities in the EMEA/ECANA region, ensuring timely, high-quality financial reporting, financial analysis, and budget and estimate support.

What you'll do

• Take responsibility for the financial reporting of a number of entities in cooperation with Global Business Support.
• Review balance sheet and P&L, perform variance analysis, and check that numbers make sense.
• Oversee the month-end close process by reviewing business results and providing relevant analysis.
• Ensure the quality and timely completion of monthly, quarterly and year-end financial reporting using OneStream and validate the quality of underlying data prepared by Global Business Support.
• Drive Group/statutory audit schedule preparation, review and timely completion.
• Coordinate and provide accounting advice to the AP, AR, GL and PA sub-processes.
• Support business finance in analysing performance and provide ad hoc analytical support, including financial models for business cases.
• Share responsibility with local teams in leading annual external audits for respective entities.
• Administer and ensure compliance with corporate policies, IFRS and local statutory requirements.
• Actively participate in rolling out new ERP systems in the entities.
• Partner with GBS to address periodic issues and improve operational procedures.
• Lead accounting staff, who have dotted-line reporting to the Financial Controller, and ensure a focus on continuous improvement.

What you'll need

• Chartered Accountancy or equivalent education.
• Minimum of 7 years' experience as a Controller.
• Solid knowledge of reporting standards and ERP systems.
• Advanced Excel knowledge.
• Attention to detail, problem-solving and strong organisational skills.
• Excellent written, oral and communication skills.
• Self-starter comfortable working in a dynamic environment with evolving roles and responsibilities.
• Ability to work in a collaborative decision-making environment.

Nice to have

• Oracle / Hyperion / OneStream / D365 experience.
