Financial Planning & Analysis Analyst

Overview

Financial Planning & Analysis Analyst reporting to the Financial Planning & Analysis Manager, responsible for business performance analysis, month-end close and management reporting within ABB Finance.

What you'll do

• Perform analysis of business performance versus plan and forecast.
• Perform month-end closing activities and MIS reports for the respective business or functions.
• Work with financial professionals in Divisions, Hubs, Countries and functions to understand and analyze the drivers of financial performance.
• Analyze overhead under or over absorption and indicate root cause.
• Perform cost/benefit analysis and analysis of inventories and NWC.
• Prepare ad-hoc reports as per business or function requests.
• Support preparation of organization financial reporting, business planning and forecasting.
• Support audits.
• Validate accuracy of financial data and business information and reports by performing reconciliation and review of exceptions.
• Optimize own performance to increase productivity by developing automated solutions, eliminating duplications and coordinating information requirements.
• Identify areas for process and report standardization across countries, divisions and business units.
• Ensure processes and controls within own area of responsibility are implemented in line with Group and unit requirements.
• Maintain proper audit trail and documentation for future tax, internal and external audits and reviews.
• Maintain SOPs for all activities performed.

What you'll need

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Finance and/or Accounting.
• 3-6 years of experience in a Financial Planning & Analysis Analyst profile.
• Strong experience in budgeting, forecasting and variance analysis.
• Must have experience in month-end closing activities and MIS reports.
• Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
• Thorough, detail-oriented approach.
• Strong communication skills.
• Fluent in English.

Nice to have

• CMA, CA or MBA Finance.
• Hands-on experience in SAP FICO modules.
