Fullstack Developer

Overview

Senior Applications Development Lead (Full Stack) role contributing to the establishment and implementation of new or revised application systems, with strong Java back-end experience and some leadership responsibilities.

What you'll do

• Provide SME support and answer client queries on applications' core capabilities.
• Work with business partners and analysts to understand operational processes and translate business requirements into technical design.
• Develop solutions and deliver high quality code.
• Build enterprise-level solutions and step up to assume leadership responsibilities.
• Monitor and control all phases of the development process: analysis, design, construction, testing, and implementation.
• Provide user and operational support on applications to business users.
• Recommend and develop security measures in post-implementation analysis of business usage.
• Consult with users, clients and other technology groups, recommend advanced programming solutions, and install and assist customer exposure systems.
• Ensure essential procedures are followed and help define operating standards and processes.
• Serve as advisor or coach to new or lower-level programmers.
• Act as SME to senior stakeholders and/or other team members.
• Appropriately assess risk in business decisions and escalate, manage and report control issues with transparency.

What you'll need

• Min 4+ years of experience, with at least 2-3 years of experience in Python and Java.
• Must have architecture experience building horizontally scalable, highly available, highly resilient, and low latency applications.
• Must have cloud infrastructure experience, both on-premises and public cloud (i.e., OpenShift, AWS, etc.).
• Must have event-driven design and architecture experience.
• Strong background in Python, Java, Maven, Spring Framework, and strong RDBMS.
• Experience in Unix / Linux (commands are a must; at least basic knowledge of scripts).
• Experience with Advanced REST Client or similar.
• Experience in systems analysis and programming of software applications.
• Experience in managing and implementing successful projects.
• Working knowledge of consulting/project management techniques/methods.
• Good understanding of Microservices Architecture, SQL, and database concepts.
• Good knowledge of SQL in the context of a major RDBMS.
• Comfortable working with XML parsing (including schemas), JSON and third-party libraries.
• Well versed with design standards and frameworks, with experience working on multiple technologies.
• Good analytical and programming capabilities.
• Familiarity with Agile, Waterfall, and Test Driven Development methodologies.
• Familiarity with tools: Git, IntelliJ IDEA/Eclipse, Maven, LSE, JIRA, and automated testing tools such as JUnit.
• Excellent project management, time management, verbal, and written communication skills.
• Ability to work under pressure, manage deadlines or unexpected changes in expectations or requirements.
• Proactive attitude and ability to run projects with minimal direction given the geographically distributed nature of the team.
• Ability to operate with a limited level of direct supervision, exercising independence of judgement and autonomy.
• Bachelor's degree/University degree or equivalent experience.

Nice to have

• Experience working with Python, Java, and Spring (Core, Integration, Batch) technologies, with proven use in a large-scale high-volume environment.
• Quick learner of new tools and technologies.
