Overview
Build a TypeScript-based Duo Client SDK for GitLab Duo clients, extracting shared logic from the GitLab Language Server into versioned packages usable by editor extensions, Duo Chat, and external applications.
What you'll do
- Develop secure, well-tested, performant TypeScript features of moderate scope.
- Ship small improvements with minimal guidance, writing tests for every merge request.
- Extract and publish TypeScript packages from the GitLab Language Server.
- Design public APIs with clear interfaces and semantic versioning, changelogs, and deprecation paths.
- Build isomorphic core packages with platform-specific adapters at the edges.
- Improve SDK client surfaces, including Vue 3 components in Duo Chat on the web.
- Strengthen credential handling across hosts, including bearer tokens, session cookies, and CSRF protection.
What you'll need
- Strong proficiency with TypeScript across frontend and backend systems, including Node.js services.
- Experience with modern build and packaging tools, including monorepos and ESM.
- Experience with Vue 3 and the Composition API, or comparable component-based frontend experience.
- Experience designing APIs that other people use.
- Understanding of Node.js vs browser runtime differences and writing shared code.
- A security-minded approach to credential handling and performance optimization.
- Ability to communicate clearly in writing and work effectively in an agile environment.
