Gas insulated switchgear Installation & Commisioning Engineer

Overview

Gas insulated switchgear (GIS) installation and commissioning engineer for the PGHV – CH 2657 team, supporting GIS installation and commissioning from 66 kV to 500 kV.

What you'll do

• Coordinate with the project manager to ensure site readiness per standard checklist.
• Conduct site risk assessment and specify safety mitigation actions.
• Unpack GIS materials at site, inspect them, and move them for installation.
• Conduct toolbox talks and ensure technicians follow standard method statements.
• Prepare weekly progress reports and send corrected/red-marked drawings for as-built preparation.
• Perform SAT activities and report nonconformities to the relevant project/site manager.
• Handover GIS equipment and spares (if any) to customers in a ready-for-energization state with documentation.

What you'll need

• Minimum 6 years of experience in GIS installation and commissioning.
• Completed at least 10 GIS installation and commissioning projects in an independent role.
• Experience handling contractors/technicians.
• Good knowledge of site HSE requirements.
• Fluent English in speaking and writing.
• Ability to summarize meeting outcomes.
