GCP Application Support Engineer

Overview

GCP Application Support Engineer responsible for application incident management, deployment operations, observability, and security/compliance for GCP-based services.

What you'll do

• Triage incidents, perform root cause analysis, and lead war rooms for critical outages while maintaining SLOs.
• Deploy applications using Kubernetes, Helm charts, and service mesh with pre/post validations and traffic switching.
• Implement end-to-end observability using Datadog/Splunk, correlating API anomalies with infrastructure signals.
• Maintain hardened GCP base AMIs, manage security exceptions, rotate credentials, and meet cyber metrics.
• Provide L2/L3 support and communicate incident status to stakeholders as part of shift rotations.

What you'll need

• 4+ years hands-on experience with GCP and Kubernetes administration, including Helm and service mesh.
• Proficiency with Datadog, Splunk, CloudWatch, or Grafana for dashboards, alerts, and correlating signals.
• Proven experience with ITIL/ITSM processes, on-call rotations, root cause analysis, and production troubleshooting.
• Knowledge of GCP security best practices, vulnerability management, secrets rotation, and compliance frameworks.
• Experience with Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or GitLab CI and familiarity with blue-green/canary deployments and pre/post validation.
• Solid understanding of TCP/IP, DNS, load balancers, and VPC networking, with ability to debug distributed system issues.

Details

• Hybrid role based in India (Noida/Hyderabad/Bangalore/Gurgaon), requiring office work 3–4 times/week.
