Gen AI Data Engineer - Azure AI Foundry - Senior Associate

Overview

As a Gen AI Data Engineer - Azure AI Foundry, you will contribute to the design and delivery of data engineering solutions that support generative AI use cases, Azure-based platforms, and modern data pipelines within the Data Modernisation practice. As a Senior Associate, you will analyze complex workstreams, manage assigned deliverables, guide junior team members, and build client connections while translating business needs into technical solutions.

What you'll do

• Develop and manage data engineering workstreams for GenAI solutions on Azure AI Foundry.
• Build and optimize data pipelines, data lakes, and data warehouses to support analytics and AI use cases.
• Integrate data from multiple sources by using Azure Data Factory, Databricks, and related cloud data services.
• Apply data modeling, transformation, and validation methods to support reliable downstream use of structured and unstructured data.
• Tune data flows, query performance, and storage patterns to improve platform efficiency and scalability.
• Support data architecture decisions across ingestion, processing, governance, and delivery layers.
• Collaborate with client teams to translate business needs into technical data solutions and delivery plans.
• Review work for quality, raise issues early, and guide junior team members through technical tasks.
• Use Python, SQL, and cloud-based engineering tools to build reusable components and automation for data delivery.
• Contribute to solution design for secure, compliant, and maintainable AI and data platforms.

What you'll need

• At least a Bachelor's degree.
• At least 4+ years of experience.
• Oral and written proficiency in English.

Nice to have

• Preference for at least one of the following fields of study: Management Information Systems, Computer and Information Science, Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, Mathematical Statistics.
• Demonstrating Azure AI Foundry or Databricks data engineering delivery.
• Applying Python, SQL, and data pipeline development skills.
• Building data models, warehouses, and transformation workflows.
• Navigating client discussions and interpreting business needs.
• Mentoring junior team members through assigned workstreams.
