Group Manager - SAP ERP CoE Platforms

Overview

Lead the day-to-day management of the SAP ERP CoE Platforms team in Bangalore, owning platform strategy and operational health across SAP HANA, SAP BTP, and SAP IBP/SAP EWM.

What you'll do

• Accountable for the application development lifecycle from conception, design, industrialization and operations through retirement, including management of dependencies.
• Responsible for centralized teams managing a stream of projects and services across ERP systems.
• Define standards and take accountability for modern SAP platforms, specifically SAP HANA, SAP BTP, SAP IBP or SAP EWM.
• Drive continuous innovation within the ERP ecosystem, exploring new technological trends and bringing cost-effective solutions.
• Help the team identify career paths, develop team competencies and prepare them for future competencies.
• Manage and lead the SAP ERP Platforms team on a day-to-day basis, consistent with organizational values, goals and objectives.
• Drive continuous process improvement, maintain agreed SLAs, manage escalations actively, and apply lessons learned to ensure service availability and quality.
• Take responsibility for overall budget management, cost estimation, and definition of chargeback models for platform services and projects.
• Manage global communications, liaise with senior management, and act as an intercultural bridge between Europe and India.
• Quickly comprehend new technologies (S/4HANA, Cloud Services, BTP, DevOps) to provide solutions, determine overall design direction, and recommend actions for complex issues.
• Lead the selection process for staffing needs (direct hiring and via suppliers), manage work schedules, and ensure a resilient team structure.

What you'll need

• Graduate or Post Graduate with 14 to 16+ years of experience in SAP ERP/Software Development and People Management.
• Deep knowledge and proven delivery experience in SAP BTP, SAP IBP or SAP EWM.
• Strong understanding of SAP Cloud Development practices, S/4HANA, and modern software engineering principles (build-in-quality, DevOps).
• Extensive working experience in Agile/collaborative ways of working and delivering minimum viable products (MVPs) at scale.
• Proven track record in building new teams, delivery management, project management, and resolving complex organizational and technical roadblocks.
• Solution-oriented, customer-centric, with a strong passion for technology and modern platform mindset.
• Exceptional professional networking skills and stakeholder management experience across global, matrixed environments.
