Overview
Hardware Engineer focused on EDA tool support for hardware design teams. You will administer, troubleshoot, and automate EDA tool workflows and environments.
What you'll do
- Install, configure, and maintain EDA tool suites from major vendors.
- Administer FlexLM/FlexNet license servers and monitor usage.
- Provide Tier 2 and Tier 3 support for hardware engineer issues such as crashes, installs, and environment configuration.
- Develop and maintain automation scripts in Python, Tcl, Perl, or Bash.
- Work with IT and CAD teams to optimize tool performance on Linux compute clusters.
- Open and track EDA vendor technical support cases for bug fixes and features.
- Create and maintain How-To guides, setup procedures, and best-practice documentation.
What you'll need
- 3–6 years of experience in EDA tool support or a CAD/CAE engineering environment.
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related technical field.
- Strong proficiency in Linux/Unix and shell scripting.
- Experience managing FlexLM or similar license management software.
- Ability to use AI tools in day-to-day work including scripting, communication, and debugging.
- Proficiency with one or more scripting languages such as Perl, Python, Tcl, or Bash.
Nice to have
- Experience with HPC workload managers like LSF, Slurm, or Grid Engine.
- Familiarity with revision control systems such as Git, Perforce, or CVS.
- Some Microsoft Windows administration experience.
