Overview
Lead hardware engineering initiatives spanning system and board design, circuit board layout, hardware automation, validation and test, signal integrity, and power design. Drive innovation, product quality, and next-generation hardware solutions through technical leadership, cross-functional collaboration, and mentoring.
What you'll do
- Lead and execute projects that span multiple teams.
- Drive innovation on medium-to-large features from technical design through completion and mentor others.
- Drive the Hardware Engineering strategy within the group and Cisco, and ensure cross-functional collaboration on projects.
- Lead the innovation, design, and architecture of new hardware products, services, and solutions.
- Optimize product design by bringing together cross-functional teams, leading and mentoring others, and improving the technical design of solutions.
- Apply knowledge of the industry, end-user experience, and the context of hardware within Cisco's ecosystem of products.
- Re-enforce guidelines and standards within and outside of ownership.
- Oversee development of testing and issue resolution approaches, and coordinate with appropriate stakeholders to address issues.
- Develop approaches to verifying products against Cisco and industry quality standards.
- Provide technical knowledge to engineering teams where needed to support production, installation, and configuration of complex hardware products.
- Mentor peers or others on the team.
- Facilitate and encourage knowledge sharing in the team through activities such as brownbags, demos, and design sessions.
What you'll need
- Bachelor's degree and 8 years of related experience, or Master's degree and 6 years of related experience, or PhD and 3 years of related experience.
