Head of Product and Engineering - Director

Overview

Head of Product and Engineering (Director) leading product engineering and engineering execution for Citi’s global compliance case management platform consolidation and modernization.

What you'll do

• Define and execute platform consolidation strategy for unified compliance workflow and case management systems.
• Lead modernization toward cloud-native, microservices-based, event-driven architecture for high-throughput processing.
• Integrate AI/ML capabilities for intelligent routing, automated document processing, and decision support.
• Establish technical governance for architectural standards, API designs, and data schemas.
• Lead and scale a globally distributed engineering organization (75+), enforcing engineering quality and observability.
• Serve as India site lead, driving talent strategy and operational excellence for the regional hub.

What you'll need

• 15+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• 5+ years in an engineering leadership role (Director, Senior Engineering Manager, or equivalent).
• Experience leading large-scale platform consolidations, legacy migrations, or enterprise unifications.
• Expertise designing and operating high-availability, low-latency, secure distributed systems at massive scale.
• Experience managing globally distributed engineering teams of 80+ engineers (including management of engineering managers and principal architects).
• Experience leading a regional engineering site or hub with a track record of building local talent pipelines and engineering culture.
