Overview
Hitachi is hiring a Hitachi Storage Engineer for its storage services team in Mumbai, to handle complex storage engineering, troubleshooting, replication, and SAN/fabric operations.
What you'll do
- Troubleshoot and perform problem determination using OpsCenter Analyzer and Hitachi Tuning Manager.
- Plan and perform patch and microcode upgrade verification and validation.
- Configure RAID groups, storage pools, and storage tiering.
- Support replication technologies such as Shadow Image (COW), True Copy, HUR, GAD, and HORCM configurations.
- Handle SAN switch and fabric operations including ISL/ICL setup, fabric merging, trunking, switch migrations, and code upgrades.
- Work with multiple vendors to resolve complex technical issues.
- Translate business requirements into effective technology solutions using best practices.
What you'll need
- 12–14 years of total experience.
- Strong background in Hitachi storage technologies and Hitachi storage arrays (e.g., USPV, USP-VM, HUS, VSP/VSP G Series/VSP 5K/VSP F Series, HNAS, HCP, UCP).
- Hands-on experience with Hitachi tools including OpsCenter, OpsCenter Analyzer, Tuning Manager, HDCA, Command Suite, Storage Navigator, HTSM, HORCM, CCI, and HRPM.
- Knowledge of virtualization and migration techniques including Non-Disruptive Migration (NDM) and Universal Volume Manager (UVM).
- Understanding of ITSM processes including incident management and change management.
- Strong root cause analysis (RCA) skills for storage-related problems.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively as an individual contributor.
