Overview
Hydromechanical Engineer role in AECOM’s Water business line focused on designing and overseeing large-scale mechanical systems for water infrastructure projects.
What you'll do
- Design and develop large-scale mechanical systems for water infrastructure projects.
- Create 3D models for design drawings using Autodesk Inventor, Autodesk Revit, or other tools.
- Size and select hoists, actuators, and associated waterworks mechanical systems.
- Perform engineering calculations and analysis for structural integrity and mechanical performance.
- Review and approve engineering drawings and vendor submittals.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including Civil, Structural, and Electrical Engineers.
- Prepare technical reports, specifications, and documentation.
What you'll need
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering from an ABET-accredited program.
- 6+ years of relevant experience (or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education).
- Professional Engineering licensure in the United States or ability to obtain licensure within two years.
- Experience conducting engineering calculations and analysis.
- Ability to ensure designs comply with applicable codes, standards, and client requirements.
- Use Autodesk Inventor, Autodesk Revit, or other 3D design tools.
- Ability to travel a few times a year for site visits and meetings with clients.
