Overview

Staff Software Engineer in Anthropic Labs (Applied AI) building and iterating full-stack applications that bring frontier AI into real-world workflows for non-technical professionals.

What you'll do

• Rapidly prototype full-stack applications and ship early to maximize learning.
• Engage with users in unfamiliar domains and encode learnings into products and workflows.
• Collaborate with research teams to translate new model capabilities into tools for users.
• Work with internal teams and external partners to gather feedback and validate product concepts.
• Design and run structured experiments to test hypotheses with rigorous evaluation.
• Create documentation and insights to guide prototypes toward full product teams.

What you'll need

• 8+ years of experience building full-stack applications.
• Ability to build 0-to-1 products in startup or startup-like environments.
• Interest in other industries and translating real-world workflows into software.
• Comfort working in ambiguity and uncertainty.
• High agency with a bias toward shipping and appropriate comfort with technical debt.
• User-centric approach with validation using actual users.
• Ability to communicate complex AI capabilities to non-software audiences.

Details

• Hybrid policy: expect staff to be in an office at least 25% of the time.
