Data Scientist, Marketing

Overview

You will lead marketing measurement for Anthropic’s marketing investment as part of the Data Science and Analytics team, starting with paid media and then extending to lifecycle and other marketing programs.

What you'll do

• Own incrementality measurement for paid media using an in-house marketing mix model.
• Design and run geo experiments, synthetic-control studies, and holdouts to validate and calibrate MMM.
• Translate measurement results into budget and channel investment recommendations.
• Define lifecycle marketing success metrics and guardrails focused on activation and active usage.
• Develop hypotheses, design experiments/causal studies, analyze results, and recommend based on impact.
• Build self-serve measurement tooling so marketing partners can answer routine questions without a data scientist.
• Present complex analyses and recommendations to technical and non-technical audiences.

What you'll need

• Hands-on experience with marketing incrementality methods (MMM, geo experiments, synthetic controls, A/B or holdouts at scale).
• Proficiency in causal inference and machine learning methods.
• Proficiency with Python and SQL.
• Experience applying data science in a Marketing or Growth context.
• Ability to communicate complex analyses as clear recommendations for non-technical audiences.

Details

• Location-based hybrid policy: expected to be in an office at least 25% of the time.
• Visa sponsorship is available for some roles and candidates.
• Annual compensation range: $285,000–$380,000 USD.
