Lead Data Scientist, Platform Product

Overview

Lead Data Scientist for Anthropic’s Platform Product, embedded with teams supporting the Developer Platform to drive data-informed decisions across the organization.

What you'll do

• Define key metrics, build measurement frameworks, and maintain core reporting to evaluate platform success.
• Conduct deep dives into product and usage data to surface actionable insights and influence roadmaps.
• Develop hypotheses and use causal inference methods, including controlled experiments and synthetic controls.
• Investigate anomalies and run root cause analyses to guide priorities.
• Build statistical models, optimization frameworks, and simulations to support and automate decisions.
• Present complex analyses and recommendations to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Help establish foundational data practices and scale analytics infrastructure for rapid iteration.

What you'll need

• Proficiency in Python, SQL, and data visualization tools.
• Expertise in experimental design, causal inference, statistical modeling, and A/B testing in high-scale environments.
• Experience partnering with Product or Engineering teams on API or developer-facing products with demonstrated impact on roadmap and strategy.
• Effective written communication and presentation skills for translating complex analyses into actionable recommendations.
