Instrumentation Designer

Overview

Instrumentation Designer responsible for creating and managing I&A, telecom, and instrumentation drawings, including 3D modeling and automation architecture for industrial and power projects.

What you'll do

• Develop Level 1 and Level 2 automation system architecture.
• Create networking diagrams and control room building drawings with equipment allocation.
• Produce I&A and telecom engineering drawings from notes, sketches, and SOW/design basis documents.
• Perform 3D modeling and layout of instrumentation items using Autodesk Plant 3D/Revit.
• Generate cable tray/duct route drawings, cable block diagrams, and location plans for instruments and panels.
• Prepare cable lists, schedules, BOQs, and material take-offs; execute as-built/redlined drawings.
• Draft in AutoCAD 2D and use AutoCAD-Electrical; support interfaces in P&IDs and isometric drawings.

What you'll need

• 5 to 10 years of experience.
• Comprehensive understanding of instrument types and installation procedures.
• Thorough knowledge of documentation and document control procedures.
• Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
• Strong knowledge of drafting/design standards and symbols for instrumentation and automation.
