Primary Design Engineer - Gas Insulated Switchgear

Overview

Primary Design Engineer for Gas Insulated Switchgear (GIS), supporting tender-specific engineering documents and drawings for transmission/sub-transmission systems.

What you'll do

• Support Sales & Tendering engineers with tender-specific engineering documents and drawings.
• Deliver primary engineering tasks for GIS for transmission and sub-transmission systems.
• Prepare drawings and documents for customer submission and production of GIS above 66kV.
• Create deliverables including GIS SLD, GIS layout, cable tray layout, and earthing layout.
• Perform system and thermal/electrical calculations including resistance, thermal loss, gas volume, earthing mat, and cable calculations.
• Prepare bill of material (BOM) calculations and cost estimation based on BOM.
• Conduct self-review and peer review of documents and coordinate with internal engineering and project teams.

What you'll need

• 3–8 years of experience with a B.E or Diploma in Electrical & Electronics Engineering.
• Minimum 2 years of substation or high-voltage product design experience (tender or execution).
• Knowledge of CAD tools including Creo and AutoCad.
• Familiarity with standards and codes such as IEC, IEEE, and ANSI.
• Excellent knowledge of high voltage products and substations.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
