Overview
Lead the design, development, integration, and enhancement of integrated development environments and developer tooling solutions. Improve developer productivity, code quality, and software delivery efficiency.
What you'll do
- Lead IDE and developer tooling design, development, integration, and enhancement.
- Develop and customize IDE plugins, extensions, integrations, and workflows.
- Provide technical leadership across coding, builds, debugging, testing, source control, and deployment.
- Evaluate intelligent code completion, code analysis, refactoring, debugging, and automation capabilities.
- Collaborate with engineering, architecture, DevOps, platform, security, and product teams.
- Mentor engineers through technical design, development, code reviews, and troubleshooting.
- Drive engineering standards, reusable tooling, automation, and continuous improvement.
What you'll need
- 10+ years of software engineering experience.
- Strong experience with developer tooling, IDE platforms, or engineering productivity solutions.
- Experience with IntelliJ IDEA, Visual Studio, VS Code, Eclipse, or similar IDEs.
- Experience developing or integrating IDE plugins, extensions, SDKs, APIs, or developer tools.
- Knowledge of compilers, build systems, debugging, code analysis, source control, and testing.
- Understanding of Git, CI/CD, build automation, and modern software engineering practices.
- Technical leadership, architecture, mentoring, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Nice to have
- Experience building enterprise-scale developer platforms or internal developer tooling.
- Experience with cloud-based development environments and cloud-native developer tooling.
- Exposure to AI-assisted development, coding assistants, or GenAI developer productivity tools.
- Experience integrating IDEs with CI/CD, DevOps, security, code quality, or observability platforms.
- Understanding of Java, APIs, microservices, containers, and Kubernetes.
- Experience in large-scale enterprise engineering environments or Payments/FinTech.
