Sr. Software Developer - Observability Tracing (Hybrid)

Overview

Build and operate observability and distributed tracing infrastructure for large-scale engineering systems. The role focuses on application performance monitoring, tracing across microservices, and Kubernetes-based infrastructure services.

What you'll do

• Build a reliable platform for application performance monitoring and distributed tracing.
• Architect and test an observability platform using Sentry and distributed tracing solutions.
• Design and implement end-to-end tracing across microservices.
• Build, test, and deliver Kubernetes operators.
• Participate in 24x7 on-call rotations monthly or bi-monthly.
• Review peers' design proposals and contribute to planning and retrospectives.

What you'll need

• 8+ years of industry experience.
• Experience with observability, error tracking, and distributed tracing.
• Experience with Sentry, OpenTelemetry, Jaeger, or similar solutions.
• Software development experience with Python, Bash, or Go.
• Experience with large-scale, business-critical Linux environments.
• Experience operating in cloud environments; AWS and GCP preferred.
• Experience with TDD, CI/CD, chaos engineering, or similar reliability practices.

Nice to have

• Contributions to or involvement in open-source software projects.
• Experience with on-call responsibilities.
• Knowledge of SRE, DevOps, and GitOps practices.
