Overview

Join Cisco's Global Supply Chain IT organization as an IT Software Engineer, working at the intersection of business strategy and software engineering to configure, build and support the enterprise PLM ecosystem.

What you'll do

  • Lead requirements elicitation and directly configure, model, and build solutions within the enterprise PLM ecosystem.
  • Configure and maintain BMIDE data models, including business object hierarchies, custom properties, naming rules, and lifecycle schemes.
  • Customize Active Workspace declarative UI layouts, JSON view models, command bars, stylesheets, and display rules.
  • Develop and maintain sophisticated workflow templates, rule/action handlers, validation gates, and change-control paths.
  • Manage security and access governance through Access Manager Rule Trees, dynamic LOVs, and classification schema nodes.
  • Lead functional discovery workshops and translate business problems into detailed Jira User Stories with acceptance criteria and workflow definition.
  • Define requirements and functional logic for AI-assisted PLM features such as automated datasheet extraction and duplicate part detection.
  • Use Enterprise GenAI tools to accelerate user story drafting, generate synthetic test data, and automate configuration scripting.
  • Assemble, validate, and test BMIDE deployment packages and collaborate with DevOps and DB teams for deployment validation.
  • Author functional test plans and lead Sprint Design Validation and User Acceptance Testing sessions.

What you'll need

  • At least 6 years of experience as an IT Systems Analyst, Techno-Functional Consultant, or PLM Engineer with tactical configuration experience in Siemens Teamcenter and Active Workspace (AWC).
  • Proficient in XML, JSON, XSLT, and scripting languages such as Python, Shell, or SQL for data manipulation and testing.
  • Demonstrated functional knowledge of multi-tier Bill of Materials management (EBOM, MBOM, substitutes/alternates) and Engineering Change Management processes.
  • Practical experience integrating generative AI tools into analysis, configuration scripting, and testing workflows.
  • Demonstrable ability to lead multi-functional workshops and translate sophisticated business requirements into actionable technical work.

Nice to have

  • Expertise in BMIDE data modeling, property extensions, and naming/revision rules.
  • Experience configuring Active Workspace declarative UI components including JSON view models and stylesheets.
  • Deep knowledge of Teamcenter Workflow Designer, including condition tasks and handler configurations.
  • Advanced proficiency in Agile/Scrum methodologies using Jira.
  • Good communication skills to effectively bridge technical and non-technical partners.
  • Siemens Software certifications.
  • Experience with AI orchestration platforms and knowledge of vector databases, retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), or semantic search.

Details

  • Hybrid role: eligible candidates should expect to be present in the office on a semi-regular basis.
  • Location: RTP, North Carolina, US.
  • Starting salary range for U.S./Canada locations: $104,000.00 to $138,100.00, not including incentive compensation, equity, or benefits. New York City Metro Area: $130,600.00 - $191,200.00. Non-Metro New York state and Washington state: $116,600.00 - $170,100.00.
