Java Backend Engineer

Overview

Java Backend Engineer to support a Keycloak migration covering backend SPI development, infrastructure updates, and OIDC integration.

What you'll do

• Rewrite a Keycloak User Storage SPI from Java/EJB to Quarkus.
• Upgrade the Keycloak runtime and supporting infrastructure.
• Configure GRP as an external OIDC Identity Provider in Keycloak.
• Work across Java provider code, container/CI configuration, and OIDC/identity federation.
• Manage provider packaging and deployment to Keycloak.
• Implement Docker multi-stage builds for Quarkus.

What you'll need

• Java professional level using Java 11 or later.
• Experience targeting Java 21 for Keycloak SPI components.
• Has written or maintained a User Service Provider (or equivalent).
• Understands JPA/Hibernate in the context of Keycloak SPI development.
• Understands OIDC/OAuth 2.0 token structure, identity federation, and broker login flows.
• Can configure an OIDC Identity Provider in Keycloak and interpret token claims.
