Java Backend with Spring Batch - Pune

Overview

Senior Java Backend Developer role supporting CorePayment application modernization and regional deployment requirements, with a focus on scalable backend services and migration and deployment activities.

What you'll do

• Design, develop, enhance, and maintain Java-based Spring Boot, Spring Batch, and microservices.
• Develop RESTful APIs, backend integrations, and event-driven application components.
• Implement region-specific application changes and configuration requirements.
• Build and maintain Docker images and Kubernetes deployment configurations.
• Contribute to CI/CD automation, release readiness, and application deployments.
• Perform unit testing, integration testing, debugging, and performance optimization.
• Collaborate with Tech Leads, SDET engineers, DevOps teams, and other MDES stakeholders.
• Participate in code reviews, technical discussions, and production issue resolution.
• Ensure compliance with application security, coding standards, and engineering best practices.

What you'll need

• 5–8 years of Java backend development experience.
• Strong hands-on experience with Java 11/17+, Spring Boot, Spring MVC, and Microservices.
• Practical experience with Kubernetes and Docker, including deployment and troubleshooting of containerized Java applications.
• Strong understanding of RESTful APIs, JSON, HTTP, and microservices communication patterns.
• Experience with Spring Data JPA, Hibernate, and relational databases.
• Working knowledge of CI/CD pipelines, Git, Maven/Gradle, and Jenkins or equivalent tools.
• Experience with JUnit, Mockito, integration testing, and debugging.
• Understanding of distributed application architecture, logging, monitoring, and exception handling.

Nice to have

• Payments or banking domain experience.
• Kafka or equivalent messaging platforms.
• Helm charts and cloud-native deployment tooling.
• Experience supporting production systems and regional application deployments.
