Java Developer- Manager

Overview

Manage Java software engineering work for medium to large enhancements and solutions in Charles River business and technical domains. The role covers architecture, development, testing, production support, and collaboration across delivery teams.

What you'll do

• Analyze, design, develop, test, and debug software enhancements.
• Translate business requirements into sustainable software with analysts and product managers.
• Design product architecture within the team’s scope.
• Develop and implement applications using Java and related technologies.
• Write unit, automation, and manual tests.
• Review code and contribute to design, API, and customer documentation.
• Provide technical support for L3/L4 production issues and mentor junior engineers when required.

What you'll need

• 8+ years of professional software engineering experience in core and enterprise Java.
• 5+ years designing software for transactional, concurrent, event-driven systems.
• At least 2 years of financial services experience, including OMS and EMS exposure.
• Experience with Java, Spring, SQL, JavaScript, and practical C# exposure.
• Experience with AWS or Azure, Snowflake or Databricks, Docker, Kubernetes, and Terraform.
• Knowledge of testing, Agile delivery, distributed-system performance, and observability tools.
• BE or equivalent Computer Science qualification.

Nice to have

• Financial trading systems experience.
• Working knowledge of Python for scripting, automation, or data analysis.
• Understanding of AI and Generative AI concepts and tools.
