Java Security Lead Software Engineer – Vice President, Software Engineering

Overview

Lead development, security, design, and operational support for Java-based applications within a Cyber Data Risk & Resilience technology team.

What you'll do

• Maintain, develop, test, support, and enhance a production Java application.
• Resolve bugs and perform automation and DevOps tasks.
• Support on-call operations and production troubleshooting.
• Develop integrations, plugins, and tool onboarding solutions.
• Enforce architectural and product-specific standards.
• Participate in design discussions, code reviews, and Agile ceremonies.
• Coach engineers and share technical practices across teams.

What you'll need

• 10+ years of hands-on experience with Java, Spring Boot, and microservices.
• Knowledge of HTTP/REST, TLS/SSL, authentication, and authorization.
• Strong object-oriented programming and scalable software design skills.
• Experience with Spring Security and data security principles.
• Experience with Git, LDAP, JDBC, and relational databases.
• Knowledge of DevOps, CI/CD, Perl, and observability tooling.
• Experience with cybersecurity practices including encryption, secrets management, and PKI.

Nice to have

• Experience with GenAI, Agentic AI, or LLMs.
• Java certifications such as OCJP or Java Web Component Developer.
