Junior Finance Collection Officer

Overview

Junior Finance Collection Officer role focused on supporting timely customer payments by monitoring overdue accounts and following up to secure payment commitments.

What you'll do

• Monitor outstanding customer accounts, aging reports, and overdue balances.
• Contact customers by phone and email to follow up on outstanding invoices.
• Resolve payment-related queries, disputes, and allocation issues with relevant teams.
• Record collection activities, responses, commitments, and follow-up actions in an ERP/collection tracker.
• Send customer statements, payment reminders, follow-ups, and collection notices per procedures.
• Escalate missed commitments or high-risk accounts to the line manager.
• Support month-end reporting by updating collection status, expected cash inflows, and disputed balances.

What you'll need

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Commerce, or a related field.
• 1–4 years of relevant experience in collections, accounts receivable, credit control, customer service, or finance operations.
• Good understanding of customer follow-up, aging analysis, payment commitments, dispute resolution, and collection processes.
• Highly desirable experience with ERP systems such as Oracle, SUN Systems, SAP, or similar platforms.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel for statements, aging schedules, and collection trackers.
• Strong English communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
• High attention to detail with good time management and organizational skills.
