Lab Engineer

Overview

Lab Engineer role at Hewlett Packard Enterprise responsible for closing a high volume of lab trouble tickets and maintaining the lab environment, with the lab administrator acting as first escalation point for junior lab administrators.

What you'll do

• Close a high number of trouble tickets submitted by various individuals across the company.
• Install network and/or computer equipment.
• Re-install software on lab devices.
• Add new devices to the database system.
• Troubleshoot and replace broken hardware.
• Build or change topologies between devices and document the changes.
• Build and deploy virtual machines using ESX vCenter.
• Mentor and teach junior lab administrators the ways of the lab.
• Keep the lab safe, clean and productive, including removing old cable from racks and auditing and fixing areas that fall below policy standards.

What you'll need

• Hands-on experience with Unix or Linux configuration.
• Desire to expand knowledge of networking and UNIX concepts.
• Ability to configure and troubleshoot JUNOS based routers.
• Expected to pursue Juniper Certification.
