Lab Engineer I

Overview

Lab Engineer I responsible for closing a high volume of trouble tickets submitted by individuals across the company, working with little or no supervision. This role is onsite, with an expectation of primarily working from an HPE office.

What you'll do

• Install network and/or computer equipment.
• Re-install software on lab devices.
• Add new devices to the database system.
• Troubleshoot and replace broken hardware.
• Build or change topologies between devices, and document the changes.
• Build and deploy virtual machines using ESX vCenter.
• Act as the first escalation point for Jr. Lab Administrators and mentor and teach them the ways of the lab.
• Keep a safe, clean, and productive lab environment, including manual tasks such as removing old cable from racks and auditing and fixing areas that have fallen from policy standards.

What you'll need

• Hands-on experience with (U/Li)nix configuration.
• Ability to configure and troubleshoot JUNOS based routers.

Nice to have

• A desire to expand knowledge of networking and UNIX concepts.
• Willingness to pursue Juniper Certification to expand knowledge of the routers supported.
