Lead Backend Data Engineer

Overview

Lead Backend Data Engineer role focused on designing and building scalable backend systems in Java with expertise in distributed, data-intensive environments.

What you'll do

• Design and implement scalable backend systems in Java.
• Lead architecture and implementation of distributed systems for reliability, scalability, and performance.
• Develop and optimize concurrent, multi-threaded applications with thread synchronization patterns.
• Build and maintain big data pipelines and infrastructure for high-volume ingestion, processing, and storage.
• Manage containerized backend workloads using Kubernetes (deployments, scaling policies, resource management).
• Implement observability and monitoring for system health and performance visibility.
• Support production deployments and troubleshoot complex issues.

What you'll need

• 5+ years of experience in backend engineering or related disciplines.
• Deep proficiency in Java with advanced features and best practices.
• Strong concurrency and multi-threading knowledge, including synchronization and atomic operations.
• Proven hands-on experience designing and implementing distributed systems (e.g., consistency, fault tolerance, replication).
• Practical knowledge of Kubernetes for production-level orchestration and service management.
• Strong SQL and database design fundamentals.
• Familiarity with observability tools such as Grafana, Prometheus, or Loki.
