Overview
Lead controls field engineering activities for installation, commissioning, maintenance, troubleshooting, and reporting across controls systems used in gas and steam turbine projects.
What you'll do
- Manage on-site controls and instrumentation activities for installations, commissioning, maintenance, and upgrade projects.
- Troubleshoot Mark V, Mark VI, Mark VIe, CIMPLICITY, HMI, PLC, and related controls hardware and software.
- Review plant engineering documents, P&IDs, wiring diagrams, and other technical drawings.
- Configure control constants, software sequencing, and gas and steam turbine control hardware and software.
- Coordinate field-service preparation, resources, customer meetings, training, and project reporting.
- Supervise cable laying, meggering, and connections while meeting EHS and contractual requirements.
- Travel frequently, including offshore and restricted-country assignments, and work holidays, weekends, and overtime as required.
What you'll need
- Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related field.
- At least 5 years of experience with GEV Controls systems such as Mark V, Mark VI, or Mark VIe.
- At least 5 years of field-activity experience in the oil and gas and power plant industries.
- Knowledge of rotating equipment control philosophies and auxiliary systems.
- Knowledge of UCP, MCC, DCP, DCS, firefighting systems, field devices, instruments, and actuators.
- Ability to use field tools and implement technical drawings, including wiring diagrams and P&IDs.
- Fluent English and Arabic, plus a valid driver's license and passport or ability to obtain one.
Nice to have
- Experience with gas or steam turbine driver control systems and Mark Controls integration.
- Familiarity with PLCs, computer networks, switches, and controls training.
- Strong analytical, communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
