Overview
Lead Data Engineer responsible for designing, delivering, modernizing, and operating enterprise data platforms, databases, and data warehouse solutions.
What you'll do
- Provide technical leadership and architecture standards for data engineering, data warehouses, and databases.
- Design and manage enterprise ETL/ELT and CDC pipelines for data integration.
- Oversee data warehouse/lakehouse solutions and ensure data quality, reliability, and observability.
- Manage enterprise database environments (availability, performance, security, backup/recovery, capacity planning).
- Lead project delivery, incident management, and root-cause analysis with preventive improvements.
- Drive modernization and cloud migration initiatives plus cloud cost optimization efforts.
What you'll need
- 8+ years of experience in data engineering, database engineering, data warehousing, or related disciplines.
- Strong experience with Python, SQL, PySpark, ETL/ELT, and CDC-based architectures.
- Expertise in relational databases including PostgreSQL, MySQL, Aurora PostgreSQL, and Aurora MySQL.
- Strong database administration knowledge (performance tuning, indexing, partitioning, backup/recovery, replication, capacity planning).
- Experience designing and managing enterprise data warehouses, data lakes, and lakehouse platforms.
- Expertise in AWS services including AWS Glue, S3, DMS, DynamoDB, IAM, VPC, and CloudWatch.
- Experience leading technical teams and complex cross-functional projects; manage incidents and production support.
