Lead Data Engineer

Overview

Lead the design and delivery of scalable data pipelines and data solutions using Snowflake on AWS, Snowflake Openflow, dbt, PostgreSQL, Python, and SQL. Coordinate Data Operations support and help improve reliability through automated monitoring and proactive support.

What you'll do

• Design and deliver scalable data pipelines, data flows, integrations, and data models.
• Build ingestion and orchestration flows in Openflow and transformation models in dbt.
• Develop batch, CDC, API, and file-based ingestion patterns with validation and recovery.
• Write advanced SQL and Python for engineering, troubleshooting, and performance tuning.
• Lead Data Operations priorities, incident response, escalations, and root-cause analysis.
• Drive automated monitoring, alerting, and recovery across data platforms and workloads.
• Mentor engineers and establish practices for testing, CI/CD, deployment, and documentation.

What you'll need

• 10+ years of hands-on data engineering experience.
• At least 2 years leading technical delivery or production operations.
• Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, information systems, or equivalent education and relevant experience.
• Production experience with Snowflake, AWS, Azure, or GCP data technologies.
• Strong hands-on experience with dbt, Git-based development, automated testing, CI/CD, and Terraform.
• Advanced SQL and experience building maintainable production data pipelines and data products.
• Strong solution-design, communication, and technical-leadership skills.

Nice to have

• Experience with Snowflake and production data pipelines in AWS.
• Hands-on Apache NiFi or Snowflake Openflow experience.
• Experience with RDS and PostgreSQL.
• Financial services or other regulated-environment experience.
• Certification in Snowflake, dbt, Apache NiFi, AWS, or data management.
