Overview

Lead Engineer for an AI-native email app, owning complex products and systems and raising the engineering bar through hands-on technical leadership.

What you'll do

• Lead technical design and execution of major products, features, and initiatives.
• Design scalable, reliable, maintainable systems across backend, frontend, APIs, databases, and infrastructure.
• Stay hands-on with coding, prototyping, code reviews, debugging, and production problem-solving.
• Make architecture decisions and technical trade-offs balancing speed, scalability, reliability, and maintainability.
• Break ambiguous problems into engineering solutions and execution plans.
• Mentor engineers and provide actionable feedback on designs and code.
• Monitor production, investigate incidents, resolve root causes, and improve reliability post-release.

What you'll need

• Significant experience building and shipping production software systems.
• Deep expertise in one or more areas such as backend, frontend, distributed systems, APIs, databases, or cloud infrastructure.
• Strong system design and architecture skills for complex or high-scale systems.
• Ability and willingness to remain hands-on with coding, prototyping, and debugging.
• Proven experience leading major engineering projects or providing technical leadership to other engineers.
• Comfort reviewing code and debugging complex issues with production systems.
• Ability to clearly explain technical decisions and influence engineers across teams.
