Overview
Lead Engineer role focused on developing and maintaining high-quality Java web applications and RESTful APIs for transaction and reporting needs.
What you'll do
- Develop Java web applications and RESTful APIs across the design, code, documentation, and test planning lifecycle.
- Design and implement solutions using microservices architecture and patterns such as Dependency Injection and Repository.
- Containerize applications with Docker and support deployment to cloud platforms including Google Cloud Platform.
- Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines to automate build, test, and deployment processes.
- Apply secure coding practices for common vulnerabilities and implement OAuth 2.0/OpenID Connect/JWT-based authentication and authorization.
- Write and maintain automated unit and integration tests and support code reviews.
- Assist with production issue resolution, including occasional off-hour support.
What you'll need
- In-depth working knowledge of Java, Spring Boot, Spring MVC, Spring Data, and Hibernate/JPA with Java 17/Java 21 and Spring Boot 4.x.
- Experience with front-end tools including React (with Next.js) and/or Angular, TypeScript, HTML5, and CSS3.
- Cloud development experience with Google Cloud Platform (primary), including Compute Engine, Cloud Run, Cloud SQL, and Cloud Functions.
- Database experience across PostgreSQL, Oracle, and MS SQL Server, including schema design, query optimization, and data migration.
- Automated testing experience using JUnit 5 and/or TestNG, with Mockito and AssertJ.
- Ability to integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines such as Jenkins or GitHub Actions.
- Experience with code management tools such as Git or SVN.
Nice to have
- Automobile domain experience and experience supporting global applications.
- Familiarity with JIRA, Confluence, Dynatrace, Postman, SonarQube, and JMeter.
- Oracle Certified Professional: Java SE Developer and/or Google Cloud Professional Cloud Developer certification.
- Legacy jQuery/JavaScript experience.
