Lead Engineer-ECAD Librarian

Overview

Lead and manage the enterprise ECAD component library within Altium Designer, including creating, validating, maintaining, and governing reusable design assets.

What you'll do

• Create and maintain schematic symbols, PCB footprints, 3D models, and managed components in Altium Designer.
• Ensure library content complies with IPC standards, company design practices, and manufacturing requirements.
• Develop and maintain library naming conventions, parameter definitions, templates, and metadata standards.
• Validate symbol-to-footprint mappings and ensure component integrity before release.
• Manage component requests via the New Component Request (NCR) process and prevent duplication of existing content.
• Establish and maintain ECAD library governance processes, including quality reviews and audits.
• Support migration of legacy ECAD libraries (e.g., Cadence Allegro/OrCAD, PADS, Zuken) into Altium Designer and validate converted assets.

What you'll need

• 5+ years prior relevant experience (or an advanced degree with 3+ years experience).
• Advanced knowledge obtained through a University degree.
• Experience in managing ECAD component libraries in Altium Designer.
• Knowledge of component lifecycle status, revisions, and version control.
• Ability to partner with engineering, compliance, manufacturing teams, and support training on library best practices.
• Experience supporting component request processes and urgent component creation for design releases.
