Lead Engineer - Enterprise PLM Applications

Overview

Lead Engineer for Enterprise PLM Applications who converts business requirements into technical capabilities, configures and tests the solution, and supports end users, working with product, business and technology leaders using LEAN methodologies.

What you'll do

• Collaborate with stakeholders to identify and formalize business requirements for the PLM solution, and validate them with affected representatives for sign-off.
• Ensure the full end-to-end business process functions and meets business requirements within project scope.
• Recommend improvements to, or new requirements for, business processes and operational procedures.
• Analyse existing system functionality and business processes and design valued, cost-effective solutions.
• Research PLM module functionality and changes (user groups, product support documentation).
• Create documentation including business rules, as-is/to-be flows, requirements, data configuration, use cases, functional specs and testing forms.
• Collaborate with the implementation team, including system architects and software engineers, to determine the best IT and PLM solutions.
• Create, communicate and coordinate test plans and test cases (integration, functional, user acceptance, regression).
• Validate configuration changes meet business requirements without negatively impacting existing functionality, and document system configuration changes.
• Participate in lessons learned.
• Troubleshoot customer issues on products supported within the business domain, including root cause analysis.
• Provide guidance for support teams through knowledge articles and process documentation, and create end-user training materials.
• Train others on specific areas of business processes or systems as applicable.

What you'll need

• Bachelor's degree in engineering with 8-10+ years of relevant experience.
• Strong functional and implementation knowledge of various PLM modules, such as Part Management, Product and Program Management, Change Management, Configuration Management and BoM Management.
• Ability to translate stakeholder requests into well-defined, documented use cases and requirements, and review them with stakeholders.
• Ability to critically review and interpret technical documentation.
• Ability to communicate and convince users on design based on a holistic, long-term solution and trade off effectively against short-term benefits.
• Ability to handle multiple priorities and consistently meet deadlines through effective time management.
• Ability to lead and mentor team members, including other business analysts.
• Ability to provide technical guidance within a global, cross-functional team.
• Strong communication skills (verbal, written and listening), including conveying ideas through presentations.
• Detail-oriented, able to work within a team setting, and proficient at problem solving and analytical techniques.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with internal team members and external stakeholders, and to work with integrity and build trust.

Nice to have

• Strong background and implementation knowledge of Siemens Teamcenter or ARAS PLM.
• Strong functional and implementation knowledge of PLM integration with CAD (NX, CATIA, CREO etc.) and ERP (SAP, MS Dynamics etc.).
• CBAP (Certified Business Analyst Professional) certification.
• PMP certification.
• Six Sigma Greenbelt or Blackbelt training or certification.
