Lead Engineer - Travel FX App

Overview

Lead Engineer for the Travel FX App, responsible for hands-on technical leadership and ownership of complex systems and products.

What you'll do

• Lead technical design and execution for major products, features, and initiatives.
• Design scalable, reliable, maintainable systems across backend, frontend, APIs, databases, and infrastructure.
• Stay hands-on with coding, prototyping, code reviews, debugging, and production problem-solving.
• Make architecture decisions and manage trade-offs across speed, scalability, reliability, and maintainability.
• Break ambiguous product/technical problems into clear engineering solutions and execution plans.
• Monitor production, investigate incidents, resolve root causes, and continuously improve reliability.

What you'll need

• Significant experience building and shipping production systems.
• Deep expertise in one or more areas like backend, frontend, distributed systems, APIs, databases, or cloud infrastructure.
• Strong system design and architecture skills for complex or high-scale systems.
• Ability to code, review code, and debug complex issues directly in production systems.
• Experience leading major engineering projects or providing technical leadership to other engineers.
• Strong communication to explain complex technical decisions clearly.
