Lead Forward Deployed Engineer (FDE) - Senior Vice President

Overview

Lead a regionally deployed Forward Deployed Engineer team in Chennai, focusing on DevOps, SRE, continuous integration, testing, and safe automated deployments. The role is approximately 70% coding and configuration.

What you'll do

• Engage development teams on release cadence and vulnerability-resolution challenges.
• Build automated test suites, including locally runnable and deployment smoke tests.
• Integrate test data and implement masking in lower environments.
• Upgrade runtimes, libraries, dependencies, base images, and operating systems.
• Containerize applications and automate deployments, database changes, and installed software.
• Improve source control, code reviews, security patterns, observability, logging, and exception handling.
• Implement resilient cross-datacenter deployment topologies.

What you'll need

• 12+ years of relevant experience.
• Experience with TDD and multiple testing frameworks.
• Proficiency in JVM languages; TypeScript is optional.
• Strong coding, secure coding, deployment architecture, and observability skills.
• Experience with CI/CD systems, Docker, OpenShift, and Red Hat Linux.
• Familiarity with Gradle, Maven, npm, and AI-assisted coding.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.

Nice to have

• Spring framework skills.
• Ansible skills.
• Master’s degree.
