Lead Java Developer (Technical Consultant)

Overview

Lead Technical Consultant role blending hands-on engineering with client engagement, delivering enterprise banking and SaaS implementations for Zafin's regulated financial-institution customers.

What you'll do

• Design and build enterprise-grade software solutions aligned with customer and platform requirements.
• Ensure solution quality through rigorous testing, peer reviews, and adherence to standards.
• Lead technical tasks from requirements gathering through deployment.
• Troubleshoot implementation issues and collaborate with teams to resolve them efficiently.
• Act as a trusted technical advisor to clients throughout the implementation lifecycle.
• Translate business objectives into technical designs and configuration approaches.
• Conduct technical workshops, design reviews, and demonstrations to build client confidence.
• Support delivery and ensure a seamless transition from implementation to production.
• Maintain ongoing engagement with customer technology teams to support solution stability and evolution.
• Collaborate with Product Engineering, Architecture, and Delivery teams to align implementations with Zafin's platform strategy and standards.
• Identify reusable patterns and best practices that support continuous improvement.
• Participate in knowledge-sharing sessions and communities of practice.
• Provide mentorship and guidance to junior developers or consultants.
• Assist in post-implementation support and troubleshooting, ensuring system reliability and customer satisfaction.
• Monitor production performance and coordinate with Operations teams to support uptime and data integrity.
• Document and report key implementation learnings for future improvements.

What you'll need

• Minimum 9+ years of experience as a Software Engineer, Technical Consultant, or Customer Engineer.
• Experience in SaaS or banking-technology implementations preferred.
• Experience and strong understanding of the software-development lifecycle, integration patterns, and modern API architectures.
• Knowledge of cloud concepts, with Azure preferred, CI/CD pipelines, and containerization using Docker and Kubernetes.
• Familiarity with banking systems and data-integration frameworks in enterprise financial-services environments.
• Proven ability to deliver end-to-end or integration solutions using Java, Spring Boot, REST APIs, Apache Kafka, and PostgreSQL.
• Demonstrated client-facing experience managing technical discussions, requirements, and expectations.
• Experience in Agile delivery environments, including Scrum and TDD/BDD.
• Experience troubleshooting complex, distributed systems in production environments.
• Application-development experience in large enterprise or hybrid-cloud environments.
