Overview
Lead Software Engineer responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining scalable, high-performance applications across front-end and back-end systems. The role builds enterprise platforms supporting customer-facing applications, CRM integrations, onboarding workflows, and operational systems, and delivers secure, resilient, modern cloud-based solutions aligned with enterprise standards.
What you'll do
- Design, develop, and maintain end-to-end applications using Java-based backends and modern front-end frameworks.
- Build scalable microservices and APIs using Java, Spring Boot, or similar frameworks.
- Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code following best practices and coding standards.
- Develop RESTful/GQL APIs and backend services supporting customer, product, and operational workflows.
- Design and implement microservices architectures with a strong focus on scalability and resilience.
- Implement asynchronous and event-driven patterns where appropriate.
- Build integrations with enterprise platforms including event streaming and legacy systems.
- Ensure data consistency and reliability across distributed systems.
- Support real-time, batch, and API-based integration patterns.
- Participate in CI/CD pipelines using tools such as Jenkins, Git, or similar.
- Support automated testing, build, and deployment processes.
- Ensure production readiness and smooth release cycles.
- Contribute to environment management and deployment automation.
- Provide L3 support for production applications and services.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues across the stack, including UI, APIs, integrations, and infrastructure.
- Conduct root cause analysis and implement preventative measures.
- Ensure high availability, performance, and scalability of applications.
- Develop secure code aligned with enterprise and regulatory standards.
- Implement authentication, authorization, and secure data handling practices.
- Support compliance requirements in financial services or regulated environments.
- Work closely with product owners, designers, and engineering teams in Agile environments.
- Participate in sprint planning, backlog grooming, and retrospectives.
- Translate business requirements into technical solutions.
- Drive improvements in system performance, scalability, and code quality.
- Contribute to modernization initiatives, including monoliths to microservices and cloud adoption.
- Explore and adopt new technologies to improve engineering efficiency and delivery.
What you'll need
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent experience.
- 8+ years of relevant experience as a Java backend engineer.
- Java and Spring Boot, or similar frameworks.
- RESTful API development.
- Microservices architecture.
- SQL and/or NoSQL databases.
- Git-based source control.
Nice to have
- Kafka or event-driven architectures.
- Cloud platforms, including AWS, Azure, or GCP.
- Containerization, including Docker and Kubernetes.
- CRM systems, such as Salesforce.
- Financial services or regulated environments.
- Automated testing frameworks and DevOps tools.
- Exposure to modern architecture patterns, including domain-driven design and distributed systems.

- Location: Chennai, India.
- Requires working from a U.S. Bank location three or more days per week.
- Shift timings: 11 AM - 8 PM.
