Overview

Contribute to U.S. Bank's technology initiatives and digital transformation journey as a Software Engineer. Perform analysis, design, testing, development and maintenance of software experiences while collaborating across the organization.

What you'll do

  • Design, develop, test, operate and maintain products.
  • Take full stack ownership by consistently writing production-ready and testable code.
  • Create optimal designs adhering to architectural best practices, considering scalability, reliability and performance when defining technical designs.
  • Perform analysis on failures, propose design changes and encourage operational improvements.
  • Make sound design and coding decisions with the customer experience in the forefront.
  • Take feedback from code reviews and apply changes to meet standards.
  • Conduct code reviews to provide guidance on engineering best practices and compliance with development procedures.
  • Ensure all aspects of product development follow compliance and security best practices.
  • Apply software reliability engineering standards within development standards.
  • Embrace emerging technology opportunities and contribute to best practices supporting the bank's technology transformation.
  • Contribute to a culture of innovation, collaboration and continuous improvement.
  • Review tasks critically, ensure they are appropriately prioritized and sized for incremental delivery, and anticipate and communicate blockers and delays before escalation.

What you'll need

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of ten years of experience.

Nice to have

  • Adeptness with the agile software development lifecycle and DevOps principles.
  • Technical expertise and leadership skills to resolve issues, ensure product goals are met, and serve as a mentor to coach and support junior engineers.
  • Thorough understanding of the team's domain, how work in this domain relates to the team's objectives and deliverables, how it contributes to overall business strategy, and how technical strategy maps to this.
  • Ability to collaborate on all aspects of product development.
  • Technical proficiency and ability to define and fulfill solutions requirements for the end user.
  • Ability to communicate processes and results with all parties involved in the product team, including engineers, product owner, scrum master, third-party vendors and customers.
  • Proficient understanding of algorithms, data structures, architectural design patterns and best practices.
  • Effective communication, presentation, leadership, problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Proven collaboration and influencing skills.
