Overview

Contribute to U.S. Bank technology initiatives and its digital transformation journey as a Software Engineer. Perform analysis, design, testing, development and maintenance of software experiences while collaborating across the organization and following agile software development lifecycle and DevOps principles.

What you'll do

  • Design, develop, test, operate and maintain products.
  • Take full stack ownership by consistently writing production-ready and testable code.
  • Create optimal designs adhering to architectural best practices while considering scalability, reliability and performance.
  • Analyze failures, propose design changes and encourage operational improvements.
  • Make sound design and coding decisions with customer experience in the forefront.
  • Apply changes from code reviews to meet standards.
  • Conduct code reviews to provide guidance on engineering best practices and compliance with development procedures.
  • Ensure all aspects of product development follow compliance and security best practices.
  • Embed software reliability engineering standards into development standards.
  • Embrace emerging technology opportunities and contribute to best practices supporting the bank’s technology transformation.
  • Contribute to a culture of innovation, collaboration and continuous improvement.
  • Review tasks critically, ensure they are appropriately prioritized and sized for incremental delivery, and communicate blockers and delays before escalation.

What you'll need

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
  • Twelve or more years of experience.

Nice to have

  • Adeptness with agile software development lifecycle and DevOps principles.
  • Technical expertise and leadership skills to resolve issues, ensure product goals are met, and mentor, coach and support junior engineers.
  • Thorough understanding of the team's domain, how work in this domain relates to team objectives and deliverables, how it contributes to overall business strategy, and how technical strategy maps to this.
  • Ability to collaborate on all aspects of product development.
  • Technical proficiency and ability to define and fulfill solution requirements for end users.
  • Ability to communicate processes and results with engineers, product owner, scrum master, third-party vendors and customers.
  • Proficient understanding of algorithms, data structures, architectural design patterns and best practices.
  • Effective communication, presentation, leadership, problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Proven collaboration and influencing skills.
