Lead Software Development Engineer

Overview

Lead software engineering for a stream-aligned team, driving projects from design through implementation and maintenance while improving scalability and reducing technical debt.

What you'll do

• Manage, mentor, and lead a small team of software engineers.
• Enhance distributed systems for website crawling and information extraction.
• Build robust, scalable software using cloud technologies.
• Collaborate with Product, UX, and Data Science teams.
• Establish software development, microservices, and DevOps best practices.
• Drive adoption of AI-assisted development practices across teams.

What you'll need

• 8+ years of software development or engineering experience.
• 8+ years of hands-on experience with Java, web services, Spring, Spring Boot, and React or another front-end framework.
• Bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, or a similar field.
• Experience as a full-stack developer.
• Strong proficiency in RESTful API design.
• Experience with relational databases, AWS or GCP, and container orchestration software.
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with architecture trade-off analysis methods and domain-driven design.

• Hybrid work environment with four days in-office each week in most locations.
