Lead Software Development Engineer

Overview

Lead software development for a stream-aligned engineering team, guiding projects from design through implementation and maintenance with a focus on scalability and reduced technical debt.

What you'll do

• Manage, mentor, and lead a small team of software engineers.
• Enhance distributed systems for website crawling and information extraction.
• Build scalable software systems using cloud technologies.
• Collaborate with Product, UX, and Data Science teams on development tools.
• Establish software development, microservices, and DevOps best practices.
• Drive adoption of AI-assisted development practices across engineering teams.
• Lead projects through the full software development lifecycle.

What you'll need

• 8+ years of software development or engineering experience.
• 8+ years of hands-on experience with Java, web services, Spring, Spring Boot, and React or another front-end framework.
• Bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, or a similar field.
• Strong full-stack development experience.
• Highly proficient RESTful API design skills.
• Experience with relational databases, AWS or GCP, and container orchestration software such as Kubernetes.
• Excellent written and verbal communication and strong problem-solving skills.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with architecture trade-off analysis methods and domain-driven design.
