Overview

Lead Software Engineer - DevOps for athenahealth’s Team Shipyard, a DevOps-focused team within Internal Developer Platforms (IDP) in Chennai.

What you'll do

• Lead technical design and development within an Agile team.
• Create detailed technical design specifications for implementation.
• Provide technical leadership through mentoring, guidance, and collaboration.
• Build and own systems and capabilities supporting developer experience and software delivery lifecycle.
• Coordinate and drive engineering efforts to complete work successfully.
• Contribute to evolving technology and engineering practices.
• Support infrastructure operating across multiple data centers and thousands of servers.

What you'll need

• 7+ years of experience demonstrating strong software engineering and a foundation in computer science.
• Bachelor’s degree, bootcamp training, or equivalent professional experience.
• Experience in an enterprise-scale Agile development environment.
• Proficiency in at least one modern programming language.
• Working knowledge of Unix/Linux, RESTful APIs, AWS, microservices, Docker, and distributed computing.
• Hands-on experience with source control systems such as Perforce (and other listed options).
• Knowledge of Perl.
