Overview
Lead Software Engineer in Test responsible for planning, developing, executing, and maintaining manual and automated testing, including UI, API, functional, regression, integration, end-to-end, and performance testing.
What you'll do
- Prepare test plans, test strategies, test scenarios, and test cases based on business requirements.
- Develop, execute, and maintain manual and automated test suites.
- Design and maintain UI automation frameworks using Playwright with TypeScript/Java.
- Build and maintain REST Assured-based API automation frameworks.
- Leverage AI coding assistants such as GitHub Copilot, Microsoft Copilot, ChatGPT, Cursor, Claude, or similar tools to improve productivity and automate test development.
- Implement and utilize Agentic AI workflows for intelligent test generation, test maintenance, self-healing locators, and automated test execution.
- Perform Functional, Regression, Integration, End-to-End, API, and Performance Testing.
- Execute load and performance testing using JMeter.
- Identify, document, prioritize, and track defects through closure.
- Collaborate with developers, product owners, and QA teams to ensure high-quality releases.
What you'll need
- 4–7 years of experience in Software Testing.
- Strong experience in Test Planning, Test Strategy, Test Case Writing, and Test Execution.
- Hands-on experience in Manual Testing, Bug Reporting, and Defect Management.
- Strong experience with Playwright Automation using TypeScript.
- Experience with Agentic AI workflows for test automation and AI-assisted software testing.
- Proficiency in using GitHub Copilot, Microsoft Copilot, ChatGPT, Cursor, or similar AI coding tools for automation development and productivity enhancement.
- Strong proficiency in Java.
- Experience in REST API Testing and API Automation using REST Assured Framework.
- Hands-on experience with TestNG and Maven.
- Knowledge of JMeter and Performance Testing concepts, including Load, Stress, Volume, and Scalability Testing.
- Experience with Git and CI/CD tools.
- Strong analytical, debugging, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Nice to have
- Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.
- Knowledge of SQL and database validation.
- Exposure to Allure/Extent Reports and test reporting frameworks.
- Understanding AI-driven test generation, self-healing automation frameworks, and intelligent test analytics.
- Experience with Jenkins is preferred.
