Overview

Lead Software Engineer for backend systems at Salesforce, working on architecture, design, implementation, testing, and engineering leadership to deliver production-grade software.

What you'll do

• Build and ship high-quality production-grade software using modern engineering practices with AI as part of the development workflow.
• Design and orchestrate complex scalable systems integrating AI agents into human workflows.
• Make architectural and design decisions focused on performance, scalability, and future extensibility.
• Contribute across the SDLC including design, implementation, code reviews, automation, and testing in a hybrid engineering model.
• Build components and algorithms in a microservices-based, multi-tenant SaaS cloud environment.
• Critically evaluate code for correctness, quality, security, and performance.
• Mentor engineers and provide technical guidance to maintain team standards.

What you'll need

• 10+ years of experience in software development and large-scale system design.
• Strong fundamentals in object-oriented design, distributed systems, and scalable architecture.
• Proficiency in one or more programming languages such as Java, Python, Scala, C#, Go, Node.js, or C++.
• Experience developing SaaS applications on public cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
• Understanding of relational and non-relational databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, Trino, Redshift, MongoDB) and solid SQL skills.
• Knowledge of distributed systems concepts including queues, locking, scheduling, event-driven architecture, and workload distribution.
• Demonstrated technical leadership and strong software development best practices.
