Lead Support Engineer

Overview

Lead Support Engineer to monitor and maintain Barclays’ critical technology infrastructure and resolve complex issues while minimizing disruption.

What you'll do

• Provide technical support for service management to resolve complex issues for specific clients.
• Execute preventative maintenance on hardware and software using monitoring tools and metrics.
• Maintain a knowledge base of resolved cases for documentation, self-service, and knowledge sharing.
• Analyze system logs, error messages, and user reports to identify root causes and resolve them via fixes/replacements/configuration changes.
• Improve monitoring via automation enhancements, tuning thresholds/alerting, and capacity/resiliency/business continuity support.
• Identify and remediate, or raise via process, potential service-impacting risks and issues.

What you'll need

• Experience in an application support role and knowledge of ITIL processes.
• Technical proficiency in SQL, database technologies, Unix, and Windows.
• Understanding of monitoring configuration and setup using ITRS Geneos.
• Experience using configuration management and reporting tools such as ServiceNow/Service First.
• Experience with batch monitoring tools such as Autosys.
• Deep familiarity with observability strategy, including alert quality and early-warning design.

• Experience in front-office application support with client communication.
