Overview

Leader, Hardware Engineering responsible for technical execution and leadership of a product engineering team for Cisco’s routing and switching products.

What you'll do

• Provide new product and/or sustaining engineering support from pre-concept through EOL.
• Collaborate with hardware/mechanical design, process, test, and reliability to address problems and ensure cost avoidance and quality at FCS.
• Review and provide input for design and architecture including DFM and component technology used.
• Support proto builds for NPI and ensure cost, quality, and delivery targets are met.
• Manage change management activities during sustenance and work toward factory and field quality metrics.
• Drive value engineering to improve cost margins across the product life cycle.
• Provide supply chain continuity and resiliency support.

What you'll need

• 10+ years of work experience as a product or design engineer.
• Very good understanding of electronic product design and architecture.
• Knowledge of PCB design, stack ups, and Allegro.
• Knowledge of PCBA manufacturing, system build, and NPI process.
• Ability to work with cross-functional teams and drive deliverables to closure.
• Some previous supervisory experience is positive.

Nice to have

• Knowledge of Valor and DFM.
• Good understanding of hardware interfaces such as high speed serial interfaces, PCIe, Ethernet, SATA, and I2C.
• Design lab experimentation/debug skills including DOE/EFA.
• Technical lifecycle management experience (e.g., defect reduction participation, new component qualification).
• Assessing CM and supply chain technical capability gaps.
